Watch Blood Orange’s “Dagenham Dream” Video
The singer has also announced a run of 2019 tour dates
Photo by Nick HarwoodDev Hynes, aka Blood Orange, has shared the video for “Dagenham Dream,” off his latest album Negro Swan, out now through Domino.
“Dagenham Dream” is the fifth video to be produced from Negro Swan. It follows on the desert-dazed dream of the A$AP Rocky-featuring “Chewing Gum,” which found the two artists riding dune buggies alone in an expansive desert. That video was a vision of obscene wealth and isolation, but “Dagenham Dream” is more lo-fi, more focused on the unglamorous moments of simply being alive. Shot on what looks like iPhone-level quality, the video focuses on a group of friends skating, smoking and sharing their lives together. It’s a far cry from the action-movie aesthetics of “Chewing Gum,” but just as valid a representation of the type of life Hynes is trying to encapsulate.
In addition to the video, Hynes has announced a limited run of 2019 tour dates. Find the full list further down.
