Blood Orange, aka Dev Hynes, has shared the video for “Chewing Gum” featuring A$AP Rocky, off his latest album Negro Swan, out now through Domino Records. The video coincides with the physical release of Negro Swan, available today on vinyl and CD.
The video, directed by Hynes, features him and Rocky riding ATVs through the desert. Negro Swan is “a reach back into childhood and modern traumas, and the things we do to get through it all,” Hynes said in a statement. “The underlying thread through each piece on the album is the idea of HOPE, and the lights we can try to turn on within ourselves with a hopefully positive outcome of helping others out of their darkness.” The video for “Chewing Gum” is a celebration of that hope, finding the both of them reveling in the light of day, joyous and carefree.
