Blue Hawaii Share Trance-Inducing New Single “All The Things”

Electronic duo Blue Hawaii have shared their hypnotic dance single, “All The Things,” along with a neon-soaked video ahead of their forthcoming record Open Reduction Internal Fixation. The group, comprising Raphaelle “Ra” Standell-Preston and Alex “Agor” Kerby, continue to follow the trance-like nature that their lead single, “All That Blue” initially laid out—building a sonic world that’s as cold as it is blissful.

“All The Things” immediately drops the listener into their synthetic environment with an understated drum machine loop. As the song progresses, a bundle of wistful noises flares up here and there: echoing synth leads, sax riffing and even a fluttering flute. While Standell-Preston’s vocals fall into a repeated loop, the hodgepodge of noises throw enough variation into the mix to keep it fresh.

The accompanying video for “All The Things” gives us extended shots of Standell-Preston’s face as it’s lit up by a constantly shifting neon glow. Her image fills the entire screen, sometimes only eyes in frame, while she repeats the line, “All the things you said keep going through my head.”

“‘All The Things’ turns over the thought of someone, time and time again,” say the group, “and in the darker moments of missing them, finding it ultimately a reflection into yourself.”
