Here’s the Latest on That Lucy Dacus, Julien Baker and Phoebe Bridgers Team-up

Paste’s collective ears perked up in a major way when word got out that acclaimed indie-rock singer-songwriters Lucy Dacus, Julien Baker and Phoebe Bridgers have a collaborative project on the way. Bridgers confirmed the project’s existence at NPR Music’s Turning The Tables Live event last week, and as of Friday, new details of the team-up have come to light.

The folks at Stereogum have come into possession of a press photo of the trio, captioned only by the word “boygenius” and the logo for Matador Records, Dacus’ and Baker’s label.

Judging by the photo, our best guess would be that boygenius is the name of both the trio and their forthcoming Matador release, though it’s unclear whether that will come in the form of an EP or a full-length album (pretty please?). We’ll have to keep waiting for further concrete details—reached by Paste, a Matador rep declined to comment.

Stay tuned for more on boygenius, and enjoy Baker and Bridgers’ Paste Studio sessions below in the meantime.
