Swedish Music Festival Bråvalla Cancelled for 2018 Due to Sexual Assault Issues

The largest Swedish music festival, Bråvalla, has been cancelled for 2018 following a notable amount of sexual assault and rape at this year’s iteration. Swedish police were informed of 23 sexual assaults and four rapes committed at the four-day festival.

Bråvalla 2016 saw five alleged rapes of women and ticket sales made a sharp decline. The 52,000 ticket sales in 2016 dropped to 45,000 ticket sales this year. Stefan L?fven, Sweden’s prime minister, provided some commentary on the situation.

“This is so disgusting,” L?fven said on Swedish television on Sunday. “These are obnoxious acts by deplorable men.”
