Bully Announce New Album, Share Ferocious New Single “Feel The Same”

Noisy indie-rockers Bully emerged onto the music scene back in 2015 with their widely praised album Feels Like, an 11-track triumph filled with songs that pay tribute to the irreverent attitude-wearing, scuzzy-sounding female-led bands of the early-to-mid ‘90s, (see Breeders and Veruca Salt). Fronted by Alicia Bognanno, today the 2015 Best of What’s Next picks announced a new record, Losing, and have shared its opening track “Feel The Same,” which you can listen to below.
Having studied audio engineering in Tennessee and interned at Electrical Audio in Chicago, Bognanno engineered and mixed the single herself. “Feel The Same” is a two-and-a-half minute jolt of energy, layered with catchy hooks and the singer’s penetrating howls. While Feels Like was an album exploring that awkward transition from teenager to young adult, this new track shows signs that the band (and Bognanno) are growing up, and are now facing different anxieties and experiences—those of being a 20-something—that, however, essentially feel the same.
Losing will be out via Sub Pop on Oct. 20. You can preorder it here. Listen to “Feels The Same” below, as well as the band’s 2014 Daytrotter Session, and further down, check out the forthcoming record’s tracklist and the band’s upcoming tour dates.
