Cage The Elephant announced via Twitter on Wednesday that they would cancel six tour dates across Europe and England due to a leg injury that their lead guitarist Nick Bockrath suffered on stage during the band’s Pinkpop Festival performance.
“Sadly, our guitarist Nick Bockrath had an accident on stage at ‘PINKPOP’ and injured his leg badly (ruptured PCL, torn ACL, fractured tibia, damaged meniscus),” the band wrote. “He tried to play through two shows, but he now requires immediate surgery and is currently getting the medical attention he needs.”
The Kentucky-based indie rockers also informed fans that ticket refunds would be available for the canceled concerts, apart from those purchased for the Isle of Wight Festival in the United Kingdom.
