Listen to Car Seat Headrest’s Official Version of “War Is Coming (If You Want It)”

Car Seat Headrest’s new song is here in earnest, and it’s a doozy. The official version of “War Is Coming (If You Want It)” premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show today, and is now available across streaming services. Describing the song in a statement, frontman Will Toledo simply says, “This is a song about not murdering people,” a sentiment we would all do well to get behind.

Car Seat released an alternate version of the track earlier this month, making “War Is Coming (If You Want It) [March Mix]” available for one day only during Bandcamp’s fundraiser for the Transgender Law Center. That mix can no longer be heard (unless you bought it) or purchased anywhere, but proceeds for the official version of the song will continue to go towards the TLC.
