Cardi B wins $60,000 in settlement after gossip blogger dissed her online

Rapper Cardi B, born Belcalis Almánzar, won $60,000 from gossip blogger Tasha K on Tuesday after the latter violated an earlier settlement barring Tasha, whose real name is Latasha Kebe, from speaking publicly about Cardi’s estranged husband, Offset, and the father of her youngest child, Stefon Diggs. Cardi first won her $4 million defamation suit against Kebe in 2022, after successfully arguing that the blogger had mounted a “malicious campaign” against the rapper’s reputation by making online claims that she had herpes, cheated on Offset, and engaged in sexual acts with a beer bottle while working as a stripper. Kebe signed a bankruptcy deal last year that delayedd repayment so long as she refrained from making further statements about Cardi or her exes online.

However, Kebe violated that agreement by making a recent series of comments about Offset and Diggs on social media and podcast appearances. The blogger was ordered by a judge to reimburse Cardi for her legal fees related to the incident, which totaled around $110,000, though the rapper allowed Kebe to pay just $60,000, provided she makes the necessary payments on time. Kebe still owes Cardi the $4 million from her original defamation suit. In May, Cardi filed a federal civil lawsuit against Kebe’s husband, alleging that he helped conceal the couple’s assets to prevent the rapper from collecting the money she is owed.
