Christmas is coming up and that means hot chocolate, the smell of Christmas trees and, most importantly, Christmas music.
To celebrate the season, Paste can exclusively share a behind-the-scenes look at how Caroline Jones’ holiday cover “The First Noel” was created, from layering the lyrics to finding the right guitar chords.
Jones released her latest album, Bare Feet, in March of 2018. The country singer has already toured with music legends like Zac Brown Band, The Eagles, Jimmy Buffett, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.
In this exclusive clip, Jones explains the making of the track’s harmonies as she laughs, dances and lets out the occasional “meeeeeh” when the music-making process gets frustrating.
“The First Noel” is available now on iTunes. See behind-the-scenes footage of Jones in the studio and on her couch, along with the single’s album art and footage from Jones’ 2018 Paste Studio session, and keep scrolling for Jones’ tour dates.
