Ahoy! Caroline Polachek Hits the High Seas in “Ocean of Tears” Visual, Adds Tour Dates

Caroline Polachek is a soggy swashbuckler in search of a heart in her new visual for “Ocean of Tears.” The Danny L Harle-produced cut is the most recent release off her forthcoming album, Pang—the former Chairlift member’s first solo collection released under her own name.

Polachek detailed her inspiration for the video—which she co-directed with Matt Copson—in a statement:

I’ve had a longstanding crush on the pale color worlds of Monet’s snow paintings, and after visiting the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland this spring, was immediately inspired to morph those two zones into the perfect setting for “Ocean Of Tears.” After all, the song is wild and lonely … like a pirate’s heart.

“Ocean of Tears” will join previously released tracks “Door” and “Parachute” on Pang, which is yet to secure an official release date but expected to arrive sometime this fall. Polachek has also announced a series of performances in Europe and the U.S. supporting the solo release.

Check out “Ocean of Tears” and Polachek’s performance dates below, along with a 2010 Chairlift performance at the Paste office. Tickets for the Los Angeles show can be found here, tickets for the NYC show can be found here and info regarding other dates can be found at Polachek’s official website.
