Listen to the Surreal New Track from Cass McCombs, “Medusa’s Outhouse”

With less than a month away from the release of his forthcoming record, Cass McCombs has unveiled a new, dusky track entitled “Medusa’s Outhouse.”

McCombs’ feathery voice reaches higher and higher in a plea to “help (him) to remember to forget,”—a typically beautiful McCombs’ witticism. He later treks down to a lower register in a solemn request to “not leave (him) hanging.” With a slight country twinge, the loose, hazy guitars envelope McCombs in this five-minute track.

Mangy Love, McCombs’ first album with ANTI, comes out on Aug. 26.
