Morrissey, Patti Smith, Interpol to headline this year’s CBGB Festival
Sex Pistols feat. Frank Carter, Bikini Kill, Mannequin Pussy, and more will gather at Under the K Bridge Park in Brooklyn in September.
This year’s CBGB Festival, held at Under the K Bridge Park on September 26, 2026, will feature headliners Morrissey, Patti Smith, and Interpol. The one-day affair, held in tribute to Manhattan’s 1970s punk rock epicenter, will return this September for its third installment since re-activating in 2025. Last year’s event featured Iggy Pop, Johnny Marr, the Damned, Jack White, Lip Critic, Soul Glo, and more. This time around, Marr’s old bandmate is set to lead the festival (if he actually shows up) alongside acts like Bad Nerves, Militarie Gun, Violet Grohl, Upchuck, High Vis, Haywire, and Mannequin Pussy. Smith is the only person on the card who actually performed at CBGB during its heyday.
Punk elders fill out the lineup card: Bikini Kill, Agnostic Front, Sex Pistols (with Frank Carter), Circle Jerks, Buzzcocks. Fred Armisen and Sleater-Kinney’s Ramones tribute band, The Return of Jackie and Judy, will also make an appearance. The Pistols were supposed to play last year, but Steve Jones’ broken wrist forced the band to cancel. Though $179 GA tickets and $799 “Punk Royalty” tickets (complete with access to “flushable, air-conditioned restrooms”) may not scream counterculture, they still beat out the CBGB Lounge and Bar at Newark Liberty International Airport.
