Chance the Rapper paid a visit to Reckless Records in Chicago’s Wicker Park for his Billboard cover story and showed us “how free music is done.”
The streaming-exclusive MC parsed the records with his friends, picking out gems like the Wu-Tang Clan ’s classic 36 Chambers and the Cats musical soundtrack. He pocketed Joanna Newsom ’s Divers for himself.
Chano then headed to the street and hollered “Free music! Get your free music!” before personally handing the albums out to a flock of excited passersby. FKA Twigs, Mick Jenkins, and Ariana Grande all got distributed, and Chance recognized John Legend as his inspiration before giving away Get Lifted .
