Charly Bliss Take to the Wild in “Young Enough” Video

Charly Bliss take to the wild to dance, sway and spin in an empty field in their new video for “Young Enough.”

Inspired by the video for Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill,” the band worked with director Henry Kaplan to create a dreamlike and serene visual that embodied the sentimental and cinematic nature of the track.

Set against a daylit background dusted by blue- and white-colored powder, the band, dressed in all white, perform in the field as frontwoman Eva Grace Hendricks skips across sweeping shots with two other dancers (and somehow unknowingly mimic the contortions from The OA). Spinning clocks float down from the sky and hurry the passing of time.

Hendricks noted how physically exhaustive the production was in a statement:

The entire crew and anyone who wasn’t in a given shot had to sprint behind the steadicam op so that they wouldn’t be seen and ruin the effect of the giant open field where we were shooting. Between that, the choreography, racing to utilize available daylight, speeding up and slowing down the track to achieve the slow-motion and fast-motion effects, and trying to get perfect, full takes because there’s so few cuts, this was an extremely challenging video to make, but for that reason it’s also our favorite.
