Meet the Three Actresses Who’ll be Portraying Cher in Forthcoming Musical The Cher Show

The complete cast of the forthcoming musical The Cher Show has officially been announced and with it, the three actresses who will portray the musical icon have been revealed.

As you might’ve guessed, The Cher Show is a musical based on the life of the musical icon Cher. The musical was announced last summer and is said to cover the musician’s childhood, her musical career, her marriage to Sonny Bono and much, much more.

The iconic musician will be brought to life on stage by three women who will play Cher at various stages of her life. They are: Tony nominee Stephanie J. Block (Falsettos, The Mystery of Edwin Drood), Teal Wicks (Wicked, Finding Neverland) and Micaela Diamond in her Broadway debut (though she recently appeared in NBC’s live Jesus Christ Superstar). The cast also includes Tony Award nominee Jarrod Spector (Beautiful, Jersey Boys) as Sonny Bono, Tony Award nominee Michael Berresse (Kiss Me, Kate; A Chorus Line) as Bob Mackie, Michael Campayno (Wicked) as Rob Camilletti, Matthew Hydzik (It Shoulda Been You, Side Show) as Gregg Allman and Tony Award nominee Emily Skinner (Prince of Broadway, Side Show) as Georgia Holt.

The full Cher Show company comprises Marija Abney, Carleigh Bettiol, Taurean Everett, Michael Fatica, Ashley Blair Fitzgerald, Michael Graceffa, Blaine Alden Krauss, Sam Lips, Allie Meixner, Tiana Okoye, Amy Quanbeck, Angel Reda, Dee Roscioli, Michael Tacconi, Tory Trowbridge, Christopher Vo, Alena Watters, Charlie Williams and Ryan Worsing.

The Cher Show kicks off its Broadway run on June 12 at Broadway In Chicago’s Oriental Theatre, where it will play through July 15. Following its Chicago engagement, the show will move to New York where it will begin previews on Thursday, Nov. 1 at the Neil Simon Theatre. Opening night is Dec. 3.

Nine-time Emmy Award-winning costume designer (and the original dress designer for Cher herself) Bob Mackie shared the first glimpse of potential costumes for The Cher Show, which you can see below.

The bio-musical is produced by Flody Suarez and four-time Tony Award-winner Jeffrey Seller (Hamilton). Tickets for the show at the Oriental Theatre are available right now via the Broadway in Chicago website.
