Listen to “Me and Your Mama,” Lead Single from Childish Gambino’s Forthcoming Album Awaken, My Love!

Amidst all of Donald Glover’s recent triumphs, fans have still been left craving the missing piece to fill the Childish Gambino-sized hole in their hearts: a new album. Rumors of a project began circulating earlier this week after a Reddit user discovered a FYE store’s release schedule with a Childish Gambino record listed for Dec. 2. The speculation seemed shaky at the time, but as of last night, Glover took to social media to tease (and therefore confirm) his forthcoming album, Awaken, My Love!

Details regarding the follow-up to Because the Internet remain sparse; however, the Atlanta star has shared the album’s first single and artwork. “Me and Your Mama” is an adventurous, six-plus-minute-long, guitar-centered track, featuring Glover’s roaring vocals and resembling an overall sound similar to that of Jack White.

The album’s artwork was actually displayed on a mantle in “Juneteenth,” episode nine of Glover’s FX show Atlanta. Awaken, My Love! is due out Dec. 2 via Glassnote. Find the album’s tracklist below, and listen to “Me and Your Mama” beneath that.
