Childish Gambino, aka Donald Glover, covered “Lost in You,” the ‘90s country track originally performed by Garth Brooks as his alter ego, Chris Gaines.

Glover chose the song to perform as part of Triple J’s Like A Version video series on YouTube. It was uploaded on Tuesday by the Australian radio station.

He previously sang Tamia’s hit 1998 R&B song “So Into You” in 2015 for the series, which has since garnered over 26 million views.

With backing keyboards, a small choir and his soulful tenor vocals, Glover transformed the rare country track into an R&B jam with his soaring falsetto notes.

Glover recently toured the globe as part of his This is America tour in 2018 and 2019 in support of his chart-topping hit “This is America,” and 2018 singles “Feels Like Summer” and “Summertime Magic.”

Glover played several electric festival headlining sets this year, such as Coachella, Splendour in the Grass and Bonnaroo.

He will play others, such as Outside Lands, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits, before retiring his Childish Gambino moniker.

Glover also stars in The Lion King, out this month, for which he sang several duets with Beyoncé and collaborated with JAY-Z, among other artists.
