The concert, which is “presented by Cornell’s family and closest friends,” according to the announcement, will feature performances from Cornell’s various bands over the years, including Soundgarden, Temple Of The Dog and Audioslave, plus special performances from Foo Fighters, Metallica, Ryan Adams and more. Jimmy Kimmel will host the event.
Proceeds from the concert will go to benefit the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation, a foundation started to “support the causes Chris loved most: helping vulnerable children,” according to their website. “The foundation supports organizations that provide shelter and resources for homeless, abused and at risk youth, children living in refugee camps and victims of human trafficking.” Proceeds will also go to benefit The Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation, a cause Cornell cared deeply about throughout his career.
Tickets for the event will go on sale this Friday, Nov. 16, with each ticket coming with a copy of Cornell’s self-titled career retrospective album. Tickets can be found here.
