CHVRCHES Are Teasing New Music via Facebook Messenger

Amid modern musicians trying to find new and novel ways to tease impending releases on the internet, Scottish synth-poppers CHVRCHES appear to have found a unique tack: The band is teasing what would appear to be a new album via Facebook Messenger, of all platforms.

The band shared a brief teaser video to their social channels on Tuesday morning, in which vocalist Lauren Mayberry draws a crossed-out heart on a mirror, set to entrancing synths:

Mayberry shared the same video to her Instagram account, adding ”#CHV3” to the caption.

The URL included alongside the video (m.me/CHVRCHES) links to a Facebook Messenger window with CHVRCHES, in which users are prompted to enter “Get Started,” then “Get In” in order to hear more from the band. Replying “Get In” results in the band sending a message with what is ostensibly the cover art for their third album, or perhaps the art for a new single:

A new album from CHVRCHES would be their first since 2015’s impressive Every Open Eye.
