Courtney Marie Andrews Announces New Album May Your Kindness Remain
Photo by Laura E. PartainArizona singer-songwriter Courtney Marie Andrews has announced the details of her forthcoming LP, May Your Kindness Remain, out on Mar. 23 via Fat Possum Records and Mama Bird Recording Co.
Produced by Mark Howard (Lucinda Williams, Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Tom Waits), the album was recorded over eight days at a rented house-turned-studio in L.A.
Talking about the inspiration behind the album’s ten tracks, Andrews says, “The people that I’ve met on the road these past few years got me thinking about my childhood, and the people around me that I’ve known, and the stories that come from my family. It became clear how many people are struggling through the same issues.”
Along with the album, Andrews also revealed May Your Kindness Remain’s title track, a delicate country/folk ballad that shows off her sweet, twangy vocals, and has a warm gospel feel due to its beautiful organ playing and choir of backing vocalists. The song’s epic, washed-out electric guitar solo is an unexpected flourish and the song concludes with Andrews masterfully pulling at the heartstrings as she effortlessly reaches for the high notes.
