The Strokes’ Nick Valensi Is In A New Band Called CRX

Music News CRX

Nick Valensi, one half of the Strokes’ essential twin guitar sound, is starting a new band called CRX. He is joined by Ralph Alexander of The Dose, Richie Follin of The Guard and Darian Zahedi and Jon Safley of The Reflections.

Currently, the group only has a relatively empty website with links to their social media accounts. However, one woman’s Twitter inquiry about a forthcoming L.A. show prompted the band to look toward their website for a future tour announcement.

Valensi’s move into CRX now means that every member of the Strokes is in or has had a side project in one form or another: Albert Hammond Jr’s solo career, Julian Casablancas with the Voidz, Fabrizio Moretti (Little Joy, Megapuss) and Nikolai Fraiture (Nickel Eye, Summer Moon).

In May, The Strokes released the Future, Present, Past EP and have spent the past month releasingmusic videos and playing the occasional show in support.
