Daily Dose: Common Holly, “Playing House”

Another fine product of the Montreal indie scene.

Daily Dose: Common Holly, “Playing House”

Daily Dose is your daily source for the one song you absolutely, positively need to hear every day. Curated by the Paste Music Team.

Common Holly’s voice is so lovely, that it might just make you forget your woes for a few blinks. The Montreal singer/songwriter (neé Brigitte Naggar) is signed to Solitaire Recordings and first caught our ears with the splendid single “If After All

Now as she nears the release of her debut album, Playing House, out on September 25th, we’re gifted a final single‚ the title track. “Playing House” feels like falling freely onto a mound of leaves on an Autumn day. Naggar’s gentle guitar stacked upon the depths of a gazy and sinister string arrangement, will have you politely pining for more. This record can’t come soon enough.
