De La Soul Share Majestic New Song, “Royalty Capes”

De La Soul’s three reigning members of rap royalty have released a song that acknowledges the nature of their kingship.

After crowdfunding a large sum of money on Kickstarter last year, the group announced in May that their new album And the Anonymous Nobody… will be released on Aug. 26. They have since shared “Trainwreck,” “Pain” (ft. Snoop Dogg) and “Action!” which was released for the new update for Angry Birds Action!

The trio now gives us “Royalty Capes,” an understatedly regal track that is nonetheless full of booming proclamations and brassy fanfare. De La Soul’s forthcoming album will feature the likes of David Byrne, Little Dragon, Usher, Damon Albarn of Gorillaz, 2 Chainz and more.
