Watch CHVRCHES’ Lauren Mayberry Join Death Cab for Cutie Onstage

Death Cab for Cutie fans were treated to a surprise appearance by Lauren Mayberry of CHVRCHES on Wednesday night. Mayberry joined the band during their show at the Anthem in Washington, D.C., for a rendition of “Northern Lights,” off Death Cab’s latest, Thank You For Today.

Mayberry provided backing vocals on the album version of the track, but Wednesday’s appearance marked her debut live performance of the track with the band. This is just the latest surprise on Death Cab’s national tour—they also surprised Chicago fans with a full performance of their acclaimed album Transatlanticism earlier this month.
