Desert Daze Transmit News of Lineup Additions in Phase Three

Desert Daze heads to Lake Perris in Southern California this fall from Oct. 12-14. The swath of land on which the festival sits will give attendees beautiful scenic views of the San Bernardino Mountains and Lake Perris all while they watch the killer musicians on the lineup—the third phase of which was announced yesterday.

My Bloody Valentine join Tame Impala as a headliner and Shellac, Yonatan Gat & The Eastern Medicine Singers and Julia Holter also made their way onto the lineup. Holter will expand her performance with an orchestra and string section. Ian Svenonius (of Nation of Ulysses, The Make-Up, Chain and the Gang) will be performing as Escape-ism, his solo project, and will conduct the festival’s opening ceremonies. Rounding out the Tame Impala/Pond trinity is GUM, the solo project of Jay Watson, a member of both Tame Impala and Pond; the latter is a psych-rock group that features past Tame Impala member Nick Allbrook and contributions from other current Tame Impala members.

In addition to musical performances by Cut Worms and Hinds, as well as others announced in Phase One, Phase Two and Phase Three Transmissions, there will be other activities like workshops and late-night programming with information still to come; Steve Albini has been confirmed for a talk. Beyond the scheduled events occurring over the course of the weekend, festivalgoers will also be able to go swimming on Moreno Beach. Around 1.5 hours outside of Los Angeles and surrounded by nature’s beauty, the festival’s space theme comes through in how separated the site is from the outside world.
