Massachusetts-bred trio Dinosaur Jr. have unveiled their own set of custom emojis, along with dates for an extensive European and U.S. tour.
The emojis were designed by Emoji Fame, who have designed emojis for Cypress Hill, Zakk Wylde and GG Allin. The emojis include J, Lou and Murph, as well as integral pieces of Dinosaur Jr.’s visual elements, like the skateboarding bulldog from the “Tiny” video and the young girl on the cover of the band’s 1991 LP Green Mind.
Dinosaur Jr.’s most recent release Give A Glimpse of What Yer Not—which made our 25 Best Album Covers of 2016—is jam-packed with guitar solos and what we called the “best distillation of [their] loud, glossy sound.” We described the three albums that preceded it as “great, loud-as-hell rock music: nothing more, nothing less.” If you’re unacquainted with Dinosaur Jr., know this: Their shows are a display of pure, unbridled rock ‘n’ roll that you don’t want to miss.
Check out their tour dates below, and download the Dinosaur Jr. emoji set for iPhone here. J was also recently featured on Marc Maron’s WTF Podcast, which you can listen to here.
