Don Henley: Following Glenn Frey’s Death, The Eagles Are Broken Up

Music News Don Henley

The Eagles will fly no longer, according to a recent Don Henley interview with BBC Radio 2. Following the death of founding member and guitarist Glenn Frey in January, the legendary band has decided to call it quits.

The surviving members of the Eagles had last performed together at the Grammys, playing “Take It Easy” with Jackson Browne, who co-wrote the song with Frey, filling in on lead vocals and guitar. In the interview, Henley revealed that they “almost didn’t do it” because of how emotionally difficult it would be, but after pulling off the performance, he characterized it as a “final farewell.”

“I don’t think you’ll see us performing again,” he added. “I think that was probably it.”
