Multi-hyphenate East Forest, the prolific ambient, electro-acoustic and indie pop artist, is returning with a new album. Music For The Deck Of The Titanic is set to arrive August 18 via Bright Antenna and kicks off with lead single and opening track “Cosmic Dance.” Done in collaboration with Senegalese-American vocalist Marieme, “Cosmic Dance” is a bright, emotional, five-minute odyssey of existentialism.
“Why won’t you let me in?” Marieme sings over and over across the track, with East Forest’s grooving snare lingering close beneath her. “Cosmic Dance” lives up to its name, as the celestial vocalizations tenderly stretch the space of the digital, airy arrangements East Forest provides. Soulful, fresh and memorable, “Cosmic Dance” beckons our attention and is the perfect encapsulation of what Music For The Deck Of The Titanic is from front-to-back.
