Ethel Cain Announces New Album Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You

On Instagram today, Ethel Cain announced her sophomore album, Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You. You might be thinking, “Didn’t Ethel Cain already release her sophomore album this year?” Yes, and no. In January, Cain put out Perverts, a 90-minute drone record officially billed as an EP. So, you be the judge on what’s what.

Today is Cain’s birthday, and she has given everyone else a gift, marking August as the target release month for Willoughby Tucker. It’s a project she’s been talking about for years, before the release of her debut album, Preacher’s Daughter, in 2022. “Before everything, there was you,” she wrote this morning. “1986, the year everything changed forever.”

As of right now, there is no accompanying single with the announcement, but Cain did upload a 55-minute piece of music on NTS recently, so we can all chew on that until more information about Willoughby Tucker comes out. In August, Cain will also embark on a major headlining tour. Check out those dates and the Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You artwork below.
