Watch Father John Misty Perform “I Went to the Store One Day” for La Blogothèque
La Blogothèque is a French publication famous for filming guerrilla performances from today’s top artists in the nooks and crannies of Paris, bringing intimate moments to the world at large. Their series of “Take Away Shows” have offered incredible glimpses into the cores of some of our favorite songs, stripping away production and over-ornamentation in favor of elemental, heartfelt arrangements.
Father John Misty (aka J. Tillman) is the latest artist to join the ranks of the amazing La Blogothèque history, with a stunning version of I Love You, Honeybear’ opening track “I Went to the Store One Day.” The video, which you can watch above, sees Tillman perform an emotional and stripped-down version of the song in the middle of the Paris restaurant Le Bon Georges, accompanied by mandolin, accordion and violin. Check out the video above.
