Flying Lotus Shares New Song “Black Balloons Reprise,” Featuring Denzel Curry

Flying Lotus has shared another track from this Friday’s Flamagra, this time with the help of Denzel Curry.

“Black Balloons Reprise” has Flying Lotus’ cosmic touches all over it—the spaced-out, jazzy production sounds nothing less than otherworldly. Curry’s verse is particularly strong, too, as he compares life’s miseries and pains to the fragility of a black balloon through precise, booming wordplay.

“Black Balloons Reprise” follows up on lead singles “More” and “Spontaneous,” both equally ethereal listens. The album’s features list is jaw-dropping, with appearances from up-and-comers and legends alike, including Anderson .Paak, George Clinton, Little Dragon, Tierra Whack, Thundercat, Solange and more.

Flamagra is shaping up to be something special, as a press release promises it is “a work that sweeps up every quantum advance and creative leap of the last dozen years of Lotus’s career and takes them even further.” Whether that proves to be the case, we’ll find out on Friday, May 24, when Flamagra is set to release via Warp Records.
