Foxygen Release New Song & Video, Announce Forthcoming Album & Tour

Last month Foxygen released the epic track “America,” which featured a 40-plus-piece symphony orchestra. Today we learned that this wasn’t an anomaly, but rather part of a watershed forthcoming new album, Hang, the entirety of which uses the same symphonic instrumentation. For their “first proper studio record” (as they call it), they sure are going unconventional.
Foxygen have also released the lead single, “Follow The Leader,” and an accompanying video. In contrast to the blisteringly bleak vibe of “America,” the video is unapologetically tame. Singer Sam France guides a game of “follow the leader” through parks and playgrounds; much frolicking ensues.
Hang will be out Jan. 20 via Jagjaguwar. Foxygen will support the record with a tour around North America in March and April.
