Franz Ferdinand Unveil New Track Live on British TV

Franz Ferdinand debuted a brand-new track, “Paper Cages,” yesterday on The Andrew Marr Show.
The Scottish five-piece band are set to release their fifth studio album, Always Ascending, on Feb. 9 via Domino Recording Company. It’s the band’s first LP with their new, Nick McCarthy-less lineup and their first album since 2013’s Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action.
Following the album’s recently released, synth-heavy, LCD-Soundsystem-esque title track, “Paper Cages” is much more subtle with its funky bass line, cheery piano and disco-pop vocals from frontman Alex Kapranos.
