Listen to The Free Nationals’ New Single “Time,” Featuring Mac Miller and Kali Uchis

Released Wednesday, “Time” marks the second single from The Free Nationals’ forthcoming album, and features vocals from Kali Uchis and Mac Miller. The single is Miller’s first release, other than his Spotify Singles, since his death at age 26 in September 2018.

The Free Nationals are best-known as Anderson .Paak’s backing band. Miller and .Paak previously collaborated on “Dang” off of Miller’s 2016 Divine Feminine. Despite .Paak not making an appearance on the track, the R&B singer took to Twitter to announce the song’s impending arrival earlier in the week.

Featuring vocals from Miller and Uchis, the track is a blend of jazzy funk and R&B with a hip-hop spin. The mix between Uchis’ smooth, sultry vocals, Miller’s rapping and The Free Nationals’ sonic backdrop result in a jam for the masses.

The track stands as the second single from The Free Nationals’ forthcoming album. The band previously released the funky “Beauty & Essex,” which features Daniel Caesar and Unknown Mortal Orchestra.
