Genesis Owusu Announces New Album, Shares “Leaving the Light”

Ghanaian-Australian artist and budding superstar Genesis Owusu has announced his sophomore LP STRUGGLER. Teased with lead single “Leaving The Light,” Owusu’s latest project is being vaulted into the world where he is now a household name on a global scale. The track is timely and urgent, chronicling fear and spiritual survival: “Better run, there’s a god / And he’s coming for me,” Owusu sings over and over. With street-race synthesizers and crunchy percussion, “Leaving The Light” perfectly blends catchy, charting 1980s new wave with the intersection of experimental pop and distorted hip-hop.
