Exclusive: Watch Glen Hansard Perform “Don’t Settle” Live at Clonakilty International Guitar Festival

Glen Hansard, fresh off the release of his new album This Wild Willing, has shared a new video for “Don’t Settle,” recorded live at last year’s Clonakilty International Guitar Festival (CIGF). You can watch the video exclusively via Paste below. The award-winning, annual music festival takes place in Clonakilty, West Cork, Ireland, and it returns for its 15th year on Sept. 16-22.

Hansard’s performance is both raw and grand—intimate and expansive. He’s joined by a pianist, bassist, two violinists and a cellist, who help bring the spectral beauty of the studio version to life while Hansard’s gritty storytelling still shines through.

CIGF celebrates all things guitar, and its goal is to make live music more accessible. The majority of the festival shows are free throughout the week. Highlights for this year’s lineup include South Korea post-rock outfit Jambinai, Tuvan throat singers Alash Ensemble and Americana duo Hymn For Her.

CIGF was recently awarded the E.F.F.E. (European Festival Association) Label for 2019-2020. The E.F.F.E. Label is awarded to festivals that stand for artistic quality and have a significant impact on the local, national and international level.
