It seems to me that a man really gets measured when he goes into that deepest and darkest of pits and finds his way out. When he rescues himself from those clutches, when he makes that conscious decision not to linger where the waters are black and the clouds are thick, and he emerges to a place where he can smell the flowers and find the confetti showers in the everyday articles of life — that’s when he’s really accomplished something. Most of us will never accomplish anything. It’s okay. Most everything’s okay. Or you just start new.
