London buzz band Goat Girl have revealed the details of their self-titled debut album, out on April 6 via Rough Trade Records.
The four-piece guitar band follows the deep lineage of the much-talked-about “South London scene,” which has produced guitar bands like Fat White Family and more recently, Shame.
Along with previous singles “Country Sleaze” and “Cracker Drool,” the band have revealed a brand-new track, “The Man,” alongside its accompanying music video, which features a gender-swapped take on Beatlemania.
As demonstrated by “The Man” and their previously released material, Goat Girl have cultivated a unique and lively sound, marked by a mix of playful, charismatic post-punk lead vocals and mean, swampy, country-tinged guitar riffs. The result is a swirling, hypnotic, lo-fi sound with dashes of everything from country, jazz and post-punk to blues and krautrock.
