Gorillaz’s Demon Dayz Festival to Include “Pretty Much Everyone” Featured on Humanz

Gorillaz’ Demon Dayz Festival will showcase performances from most, if not all, of the collaborators on Gorillaz’s much-anticipated fifth album Humanz. The announcement came from Gorillaz’ Damon Albarn, who, at the beginning of their comeback show in London, said, per NME: “We’ve got pretty much everyone who’s on the record here. A few people couldn’t make it because they had other stuff that was booked in beforehand. But they’ll be all here when we play [Demon Dayz].”

The impressive list of Humanz collaborators includes Noel Gallagher, Mavis Staples, Carly Simon, Grace Jones, Savages’ Jehnny Beth, Pusha T, Danny Brown, Vince Staples, Popcaan, Kelela, D.R.A.M., Peven Everett, De La Soul, Zebra Katz and Rag’n’bone Man. We already had enough reason to want to go to Demon Dayz, seeing as it will be one of Gorillaz’s first live shows in years. But now that we know all the artists that collaborated on Humanz will be there, too? Incredible.

Demon Dayz will take place on June 10 in Margate, England, in the recently restored Dreamland amusement park. If, like many of us, you’re stuck on the other side of the pond, Red Bull TV plans to broadcast the one-day festival live. There’s no word yet as to the official lineup, but if most of the collaborators will be there, we’re feeling pretty satisfied with it already. You can check out the festival poster below, and listen to Gorillaz’ four new songs here.
