Gorillaz Share New Version of Grammy-Nominated “Andromeda (featuring DRAM)”

Gorillaz, fresh off a pair of Grammy nominations, have shared a new version of their acclaimed Humanz cut “Andromeda (feat. DRAM).”

The new version of “Andromeda” was featured on the Humanz Super Deluxe Box Set, but 2-D, Murdoc and the rest of the Gorillaz crew have now released it as a single.

“Andromeda (DRAM Special),” as it is appropriately titled, is far more DRAM-centric than the album version of the track, and all the better for it.

The original track was nominated for Best Dance Recording earlier this week, while Humanz got a nod in the Best Alternative Music Album category.

Those were Grammy noms number 10 and 11 for Gorillaz, who won Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals for one of their biggest hits to date, “Feel Good Inc.”

That song, off 2005’s Demon Days (which was recently reissued on vinyl), claimed the top spot on our ranking of the band’s top 10 tracks.

Kenneth Partridge called Humanz “the most vibrant, consistently engaging Gorillaz album yet” in his review for Paste. The album was released in April.
