Update: Gorillaz have dropped four new songs from the album—find those here.
Earlier this week, there was a rumoured tracklist for indie-pop/rap project Gorillaz’s fifth LP floating around the Internet that featured the likes of Vince Staples, D.R.A.M, Savages’ Jehnny Beth and Popcaan. Not only did news today partially confirm that tracklist, but it also brought an official release date for the project’s fifth album.
Humanz will drop on April 28 and features “Ascension” with Vince Staples, “Andromeda” with D.R.A.M., “We Got The Power” with Savages’ Jehnny Beth and “Saturnz Barnz” with Popcaan. Those new tracks popped up on TIDAL earlier today but were then yanked because they weren’t actually available for people to stream.
Beyond that, we don’t know much at this present moment, but Damon Albarn is set to appear on BBC Radio 1 at 3:30 p.m. EST and is expected to share new music at that time, so watch this space for updates.
While you wait, check out the rumored tracklist for the album below (it’s in alphabetical order and, again, hasn’t been officially confirmed), plus Gorillaz’s announcement Instagram post, and further down, watch the still-excellent clip for “Hallelujah Money” featuring Benjamin Clementine.
