Gorillaz Share “Aries” on New Episode of YouTube Series Song Machine

After a reassuring message from Murdoch Niccals via an Instagram post in late March, Gorillaz are back with another mind-boggling project to entertain us during shelter-in-place orders. Episode three of their animated YouTube series Song Machine includes the new song “Aries” feat. Peter Hope and Georgia. “Highly impatient and competitive, many Aries have the fighting spirit of your mythological ruler,” says guitarist Noodle.

The virtual band has shared two other songs through Song Machine, “Momentary Bliss” feat. slowthai and Slaves and “Désolé” feat. Fatoumata Diawara, and they have made it clear we can count on more throughout quarantine. The cartoon-spitting contraption will provide visuals to accompany collaborations between Gorillaz and an ever-evolving roster of featured artists. Episode three ended in a mini PSA from Gorillaz: “Make sure you stay in, stay safe, and stay cheered. Oh yeah, and keep washing your hands. Sweet.” The band even rolled out their new digital hangout space on FaceBook, G Club, “where social distancing doesn’t apply.”
