The build-up to HAIM’s fourth record has been a masterclass, as the sisters have been recreating infamous paparazzi photos (the latest being a shot of Jared Leto and Scarlett Johansson macking on an LA sidewalk in 2004) and dropping some of their best singles in years, including the instant hit “Relationships,” which has inspired a new dance craze on TikTok, and “Everybody’s trying to figure me out.” The wait is over, as the trio has announced their next LP, I quit, slated to be released on June 20 under Columbia Records. Like their last two records, this album was co-produced by Rostam Batmanglij and Danielle Haim.

Paul Thomas Anderson, who directed Alana in Licorice Pizza and has made various music videos for the trio, took the cover photo, featuring Danielle holding up an LED display with the album title, accompanied by her sisters in the backdrop.

With the news of their first album since 2020’s Women In Music Pt. III also comes a new single: “Down to be wrong.” In the track, Danielle sets boundaries with a past lover, making sure he knows she’s over him: “Oh, I bet you wish it could be easy / To change my mind / Oh, I bet you wish it could be easy / But it’s not this time.”
