HAIM Release Short Film, “Valentine,” With Unseen Performances

Fresh off of a tour that took them across the country, the HAIM sisters haven’t slowed down—in fact, they just released a short film. Entitled Valentine, a nod to one of their favorite studios in LA, the film gives a glimpse into the recording process of their newest album. Directed by the inimitable Paul Thomas Anderson of Boogie Nights, There Will Be Blood, and Punch-Drunk Love fame, the 14-minute film offers an intimate look at the making of their critically acclaimed sophomore album, Something to Tell You, which was released in July. The band also enlisted Anderson’s help for the making of the video for their single “Little of Your Love,” which will be released soon.

Though Valentine officially made its New York premiere in July, the band said in a statement Monday that they held off releasing it to the public to allow fans to get accustomed to the album before letting them into the studio. The film, which specifically highlights the immense talent of lead-singer Danielle Haim, includes previously unseen performances of songs “Right Now”, “Something to Tell You”, and “Nothing’s Wrong”. Watch the film here now, and check out their Tweet explaining the inspiration for the shoot. In case this doesn’t satiate your HAIM thirst, you can catch them at the Lost Lake Festival in late October.
