Despite its blithe beat, Hinds’ song “Warts” and its new accompanying video are anything but blissful.
The chirpy song, from the band’s debut album Leave Me Alone, is about a guy who’s head over heels for a girl whose middle name is Trouble. Of course, everyone knows that except for him.
In the video, the four members of the band, dressed in kimonos for some inexplicable reason, are watching their friend being sucked into this girl’s mind games. The boy, oblivious to it all, merely stands by while his friends are picked off one by one by the devious girlfriend. Creepy yet instantly relatable, right?
