If you’re looking for a quick acid trip without actually popping a tab, Hot Chip’s new music video for their song “Positive” will do the trick.
Six minutes of weird interpretive dancing, soldiers getting blessed by crucifixes, holy water being thrown on cars in a McDonald’s parking lot and the trippiest dolphin show of all time, is just a smidge of Hot Chip’s new video directed by Sebastian Strasser.
“This film is about love and the lack of it; about the tension between the natural flow of energy versus our social constructs,” says Strasser in a statement. “The free soul is rare.”
Hot Chip’s latest album A Bath Full of Ecstasy, which features “Positive,” is out now. The band is set to head out on tour in support of the album next month starting in India, with U.S. dates beginning in April. The band also landed a spot on the lineup for one of music’s biggest festivals in the country: Coachella.
