Philadelphia-based power pop group Hurry are back with a new album. Don’t Look Back is set to arrive on August 11 via Lame-O Records. Lead single “Beggin’ For You” is a nostalgic nod to ’90s pop rock that’s accessible and bouncy—approaching the two-sided romantic woes of a relationship that’s gone off its rails. It’s radio-ready and summery without losing any pathos of genuine frustration; an admittance of guilt couched in hooky guitar riffs.
Don’t Look Back is the band’s fifth studio album, a shimmering tribute to power pop and the shifting boundaries of the genre itself. It’s calibrated for catchiness; a flowery dose of hummable choruses and sing-along-ready lyrics.
