Husbands Announce New LP, Release “Can’t Do Anything”

Indie-rock group Husbands has announced their fourth studio album Cuatro, out October 13 via Thirty Tigers. In conjunction, they’re releasing its lead single “Can’t Do Anything” and heading onto the road with Goth Babe. Cuatro is the culmination of the years frontman Danny Davis spent juggling his art with a full-time day job. The 11-track LP traces his growth and refocus, an answer to a self-imposed question: Why did he start making music in the first place? “I just wanted to make an album for people to be able to sing along and feel a connection through it,” Davis notes.

“Can’t Do Anything” is a breezy, cheeky track about the joys of giving up. A bouncy, soothing series of verses opens up into a spacious, punchy chorus highlighting Davis’s harmonics. The song fades out in a hymnal bridge whose acceptance of impotence tows the line laughingly between celebratory and apocalyptic.
