Iceland’s premier music showcasing festival, Iceland Airwaves, has announced its first wave of 2020 performers. The annual Reykjavík festival will take place on Nov. 4-7 and will feature notable artists like Courtney Barnett, Black Pumas and Metronomy, plus hyped newcomers like Squid, Dry Cleaning and Dorian Electra. As always, the lineup features half international artists and half Icelandic artists, and the hometown bookings include Daughters of Reykjavik, Júníus Meyvant, Sin Fang (of Seabear) and more.
Paste attended last year’s event and called it a “truly progressive, unique music festival” and “a dream for those who savor moments of serendipitous connection.” You can read our full recap from the 2019 festival here, which featured performers like Of Monsters and Men, Orville Peck, Girl in Red, Shame and John Grant.
